Poll: Most Pointlessly Disgusting Song Ever since I've been trying to describe TBS to people, I've used the
"Happy poppy tunes with black-humour lyrics" to try to convey the group's core
style.
Obviously "Woman in the Wall" has been the key
example in this line of talk. In addition to being peppy, it tells the tale of the mean
drunk who beats his wife to death, piles her into the wall, and then goes quietly insane.
Sounds just like the local newscast.
"What is the most pointlessly disgusting song TBS has
produced"
| LOVE ADJOURNED |
The only thing more disgusting than a song
about a man beating his own wife to death, is a song about a man beating YOUR wife to
death: "Your wife's got beautiful teeth,
pity they're not in her mouth no more ..."
"And if you want to see her smiling / Take a good look
at this fist" (2) |
| Mini-Correct |
"So it's me left with a baby and
disease" "'So you've left me for
another pretty face?' 'Well that's not true I left you for one half the human race'"
A very 90s song about 70s morality. The protagonist's
reckless behavior gives some listeners the creeps. (2)
By the way, Briana agrees, this song is one of the reasons
she left the band. |
| Something That You
Said |
"The perfect kiss is with the boy that
you've just stabbed to death" "So
when you walk into your house, and she's cutting up your mother" (2) |
| Should've Kept My
Eyes Shut |
Ever popular, spousal murder keeps cropping
up. "The scene a little clearer, my
father with a rope, and in the cage, center stage, it's mother who's destined to choke
..." (1) |
| Virgin |
I don't appreciate the line "my special
mix in you" being utilized in such a "cavalier" manner. (jokes? N. Lannon)

"I think this song is evil and degrading
to the walruses who smoke blow because, don't quote me on this, but I'm sure they are
quite satisfying in bed" (1) Sorry,
Nicole, we quoted you. |
